Backstage: Wrap Party

"Backstage", BBCi, 7th January 2005

Carla: And now here is lovely young Kyal, who brought his new girlfriend along to tonight's proceedings!

Kyal: No comment, no comment!

Carla: Okay, we won't talk too much about your girlfriend! Are you having a nice little time Kyal?

Kyal: The wrap party is always a good night, I've been to the last two or three, everyone gets together and talks about the year and relaxes.

Carla: But the fans want to know, do the cast "relax" relax, or do they "relax" outrageously?

Kyal: Well, I think Nat Bass used to be a big party animal when she first came, but now I reckon it must be me and Ben Nicholas who party the most!

Carla: But you guys hang out with each other all the time don't you?

Kyal: Yeah, me and Ben always go to the same parties throughout the year. In winter, Ben, Stephen Lovett, Bridget Neval (Lana) and a few of us went to Falls Creek, a big trip to go snowboarding. We all hung out together and went snowboarding. They're all a great bunch of people and we hang out together outside of work and have fun.

Carla: It's true that our work is so fun you wonder why we have to have holidays at all! Hmmm, must make sure Peter Dodds doesn't hear me say that.

Kyal: Hey, you can't take away the holidays, this summer I'm going to my house in Bali, which has just finished being built, I'll spend two and a half weeks there, then I'll backpack around Vietnam with my Dad and go to Cambodia too.

Carla: Lucky for some! Okay, I think that's enough roving reporting for me tonight! The BBQs are fired up in the courtyard here at the studios, the sun is setting graciously in the summer sky, a sweet long month of relaxing looms before us... stay tuned for another Backstage story from me soon when we return to the studio to film another amazing year of Neighbours!
