Teen Fans Meet Boy Next Door by Angel Eyes

Evening Chronicle, Newcastle, UK, 27th July 2007

THEY say everybody needs good Neighbours. And one of the most popular Neighbours of them all will be checking out the delights of Newcastle’s Bigg Market next week.

No, it’s not Kylie, and Jason was probably too busy (he’s at Bents Park on Sunday), and as for the Alessi Twins? Well, what exactly are the twins up to these days and, more importantly, does anyone care?

Nope, this good Neighbour who is heading for the Toon is none other then Kyal Marsh, who plays Boyd in the long-running Aussie soap.

This particular Angel Eyes supremo had never actually heard of the bloke, but my, erm, younger colleagues assure me he’s one of the bright young things on the series.

Even they, though, are not young enough to go along to see him when he makes an appearance at Blu Bambu on Tuesday.

For Kyal will actually be a guest at Sweet – Metro Radio’s highly acclaimed under-18s night for young clubbers.

Boyd is the latest celebrity to make a personal appearance at the ever-popular night, which has seen bands of the calibre of Booty Love and Infernal perform to over 1,200 young clubbers each month.

Sweet has also built up a reputation for being one of the safest Under-18s night in Newcastle, where young people can enjoy the ultimate club experience in a safe environment.

This month Sweet is being sponsored by Northumbria Police, who are running a summer campaign turning the tables on criminals who steal youngsters’ mobile phones and cash.

Sweet is an effective way for Northumbria Police to highlight the campaign to young people in the area. The police are promoting ways that people can keep their valuables safe, as well as reminding offenders of the potential cost of their crime – a hefty fine or prison sentence.

Metro Radio’s Wayne hosts the next Sweet night, which runs from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Blu Bambu, Bigg Market, Newcastle on Tuesday.

Tickets for Sweet are £6 plus 60p booking fee and are available from HMV Newcastle on Northumberland Street and HMV in the MetroCentre, Gateshead.
